Squarespace Super Bowl Commercial 2017: Watch the full, extended version of John Malkovich’s big game TV ad for domain name registrar and web hosting company Squarespace.
Squarespace’s new Super Bowl 51 TV commercial sees actor John Malkovich attempt to register the .com domain of his name, only to find it has already been taken and is being used by someone else.
After writing out an angry email to the current owner, Malkovich eventually elects to call the guy instead to find out what exactly is going on and, perhaps make him an offer.
In real life, the domain JohnMalkovich.com was actually registered back in 2003, but is now being used by the Hollywood star to promote and sell his own line of men’s fashion and clothing.
Nevertheless, Squarespace’s ad makes the very real point that you should “Get your domain before it’s gone”.
Commercial running time: 1 minute, 17 seconds.
YouTube video upload date: Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
