Colombo, July 28 (newsin.asia): The Bangladesh Key Minister Sheikh Hasina has congratulated Ranil Wickremesinghe on possessing been elected President of Sri Lanka. In a concept to Wickremesinghe, Hasina explained that his“ prosperity of encounter, wisdom and political acumen” will stand him in good stead.

On behalf of the Federal government and the people today of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I would like to congratulate you on your election in the Parliament as the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. I want you all achievement in your endeavours.
This year, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are celebrating 50 years of solidarity and friendship, a friendship which is based on historic linkages, shared values and cultures, mutual regard and multitude of commonalities. I have the conviction that relations among our two countries will be additional strengthened in the coming times by multi-pronged sectoral cooperation for mutual profit of our two peoples.
